SPECIAL SWEDISH CHRISTMAS MENU AT DEEP RESTAURANT & BAR
Located in the stunning waterside location of Imperial Wharf, London SW6, DEEP, a seafood restaurant and bar, offers a luxurious dining experience by combining Scandinavian influences with classical Francophile dishes. Owners Kerstin and Christian Sandefeldt are renowned for the freshness and ecological soundness of the fish served as well as offering inventive dishes at accessible prices, and this Christmas, they will be introducing a special menu featuring classic festive dishes from Sweden. For more information and reservations visit www.deeplondon.co.uk or call 020 7736 3337.
DEEP’s Swedish Christmas Buffet will be served on Saturday evenings and Sunday lunches from 29th November until 20th December, and will offer something special to diners. Celebrating Christian and Kerstin’s Swedish heritage, it will be based around a very traditional and, sadly, increasingly rare menu of classic festive dishes. For £37.50 per person, guests can enjoy an authentic selection of dishes including seven herring preparations; salmon caviar with red onion and sour cream; smoked eel; Christmas ham with Swedish mustard; and Swedish meatballs; followed by rice pudding with Swedish fruit sauce and ginger biscuits.
An à la carte menu continues to be served at lunch and dinner, with a selection of the freshest seafood ‘at market price’. Platters for two are also offered alongside whole roasted or grilled fish, and meat dishes such as braised black pig pork belly with borlotti beans, tomato and gremolata. Less common species of seafood and shellfish are imported directly from Lake Vanerne, West Sweden and showcased in a selection of small dishes.
The bright, stylish, understated restaurant is distinguished by floor-to ceiling windows with great views, and the neighbouring bar area also offers plenty of seating from which to enjoy the river vista – or Britain’s largest range of Akavit, another Scandinavian speciality. Imported from boutique distilleries, they can be savoured on their own or mixed into the wide cocktail selection. The bar menu offers lighter meals to accompany the drinks list, such as Irish rock oysters or Devon crab served with lemon mayonnaise and toast.
DEEP is also an ideal setting for private parties and events year-round. Offering specially designed menus for all events and gatherings, both the restaurant and bar seat 80 guests each and in the summer months two Champagne Pommery terraces can accommodate a total of 100 guests. For the coming Christmas party season, Christian has created a number of packages, priced from just £30 per person.
DEEP is available for private events on Mondays, and is open for lunch 12pm – 3pm Tuesday to Friday and Sundays, and for dinner 7pm – 11pm Tuesday – Saturday.
Imperial Wharf is easily accessible by tube to Fulham Broadway then a short walk or taxi ride. By bus, the C3 from Earl’s Court station, or 391 from Hammersmith
