About us

The Norwegian-British Chamber of Commerce (NBCC) is an independent non-profit organisation with more than 700 members, including over 150 Young Professional Members. The NBCC was founded in 1906 and welcomes members from Norway and the United Kingdom. The chamber has played a significant role in supporting Anglo-Norwegian trade relations during the past 100 years. NBCC is funded through member subscription fees and its own activities.

Mission statement

The Norwegian-British Chamber of Commerce provides a professional and social environment for business people who wish to be introduced to, and become a part of, the Norwegian-British business and culture community.

By providing relevant business networking opportunities and encouraging dialogue between members, we seek to create a community of peers where actively participating individuals - enabled by the NBCC - are inspired and supported by the larger community.

In short we want to be the most important organization for Anglo-Norwegian business people in the UK.

Services

The Chamber's services have three main functions:

  • To create a forum for social and professional networking for NBCC members. Members regard this function as an excellent opportunity to increase their client base and share experiences among fellow members.

  • To act as a channel between members and the Norwegian and British authorities on particular topics of special interest to the members.

  • To participate in the debate regarding trade and policy issues which are of concern to NBCC members both in Britain and in Norway.

Most activities focus on members' meetings and Chamber seminars either in the form of evening presentations or business lunches.

NBCC Aberdeen Chapter

The NBCC Aberdeen Chapter was successfully launched in 2006 and is active in promoting Anglo-Norwegian trade in the Aberdeen area. A planning committee with members from prominent NBCC member companies is working closely together with the London NBCC and other trade organisations to create an interesting programme for Aberdeen members and their guests.

Young Professionals

The Young Professionals (YP) group was founded in January 2002 and has been a great success with more than 200 members. The YP is an active subdivision of the NBCC, and aims to create a professional and social networking environment for young business people in the age group 20-35 working and studying in London. The YP members have an own forum to meet and share experiences. YP’s will have the chance to meet prominent people from the business world and learn about the different industry sectors. YP’s have a programme with company visits, seminars and informal gatherings. YP’s are also welcome to attend all other NBCC events.
